Balance the heart

When the heart is balanced we are able to move from a space of openness - giving and receiving easily.

Our practice this week is Balancing the Tattvas, a breath meditation that brings harmony to the five elements (tattvas) within us — earth, water, fire, air, and ether. These elements are the building blocks of both the natural world and our inner world. When one element dominates or another is suppressed, we can feel out of balance — restless, heavy, reactive, or disconnected.

This meditation uses a precise hand mudra  to create equal pressure on the ten fingertips, stimulating specific points in the brain and coordinating communication between the two hemispheres. The deep inhale softens into the heart space and parasympathetic nervous system while the exhale activates the pituitary gland, supporting clarity, intuition, and decision-making.

By balancing the Tattvas, we bring the elements within into harmony, once balanced the heart to opens naturally. From this place of inner equilibrium, compassion flows more freely — both toward ourselves and toward others.
